VICTORIA'S SUMMER
Not sure I can manage to keep two blog sites going! However if you are a photographer then please go to our new blog site @ http://www.yerburystudio.com Here you will get all the information on workshops, mentoring, exhibitions, critiques etc.
I have spent much of today setting out the pages for the long awaited VICTORIA'S SUMMER book. This started back in 2004 when we spent an entire summer photographing Victoria just after she turned 18, in and around her palatial home in Fife. These were the first images ever taken of Victoria and although it has taken some tome to go through the thousands of transparencies we took we have at long last managed to narrow the selection down and do the high res scans. Indeed there are so many images that we would love to share that we are seriously thinking about 2 even 3 volumes. As mentioned some time ago this will be a Limited Edition publication, 200 copies, each numbered and dated and signed by ourselves and also Victoria. So a collectors item. This is one of the images from the book.

BOUTIQUE BOUDOIR
On Sunday, Faye and I held our first Boutique Boudoir Workshop here at Claremont for 3 delegates. Our model for the day was our surrogate daughter Nicky who is an actress in London but comes from Edinburgh and stayed over an extra couple of days while up visiting to do the seminar. This workshop came about as the result of a random comment made on a previous course when a delegate said that he could never envisage being able to do a Boudoir session is his own home. When asked why he replied that he could not think of anywhere he could work and, when pressed, admitted that perhaps there were a ‘couple’ of places that might be suitable. As we do most of our Boudoir sessions in and around our own home we took to this challenge to show just how easy it is to use your own, or your clients, home to do a session without going to any great expense.
I think our 3 delegates were enlightened as to what areas can be used in your home and I think they appreciated how to use daylight to create effective and dramatic images. We used several areas just to illustrate how easy it is to create a collection of wonderful images for clients to select from. We also used the studio in the afternoon and worked with some of the BOWENS kit including our favourite Fresnel spot.
The day went so quickly, so quickly in fact that we never stopped for mid morning or mid afternoon breaks just worked through. Nicky was wonderful and played the part of a ‘client’ perfectly. She is already back in London and working on Billy Elliot in the West End tonight. Here are a couple of images from the day, more to follow tomorrow
Faye and I were doing a commercial portrait this morning at the new Missoni hotel in the centre of Edinburgh http://www.hotelmissoni.com We were given a guided tour of the hotel and I must say a very welcome addition to Edinburgh and would recommend it as a wonderful place to spend a couple of days, or longer.
The new website, www.yerburystudio.com is soon to be completed and will be up and running later this week so remember to bookmark the address.
